3–5 minute walk to Terminals 1 and 2 from P2
P2 Terminal is the short-term car park directly in front of Helsinki Airport’s Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with a walking time of roughly 3–5 minutes to check-in. It sits closer than the long-term garages, so it suits drop-offs, quick business trips, or same-day returns where you value speed over the lowest price.
This is a short-term facility, so prices run higher than P3 or P5, especially once you go past 24 hours. Hourly and daily rates apply, and you pay at the airport pay stations or via the airport’s online system tied to your license plate. If your trip stretches beyond 2–3 days, compare the total against the cheaper long-term car parks before locking in P2.
P2 Terminal is fully within the main terminal forecourt area, so you stay on-foot the whole way and skip shuttle buses altogether. Spaces are in a covered multi-storey structure, which helps in winter when temperatures at HEL routinely drop below freezing. Clearance is standard for a multi-level car park, so tall vans and high-roof vehicles may be better off in open-air alternatives.
Wayfinding signs for P2 appear as you approach Helsinki Airport on the main access road, with separate lanes marked for Terminals 1 and 2. Take it slow on the final approach; the turn-in for P2 comes quickly after the terminal drop-off lanes. Ticketless entry via license plate cameras is in use, so make sure your number plate is clean and readable in snow or slush.
Practical tip: if your pickup or drop-off might stretch beyond the 10-minute free terminal forecourt window, park in P2 Terminal instead and walk the 3–5 minutes to avoid last‑minute stress at the curb.
