€45 at the desk gets you into Hamburg Airport Lounge

This contract lounge in the central plaza above T1/T2 is the default option for most non-Lufthansa flights at HAM, including BA and Priority Pass cards. It runs roughly 05:15–21:00, so early departures from Terminal 1 are covered, but very late-night flights are not.

Access sits by the Mövenpick in the plaza just after security between T1 and T2; take the lift up to Level 3 and follow the “Airport Lounge” signs. The space is one large open room with apron views over the central stands, so you do at least see your aircraft while you wait for boarding.

Priority Pass gets you in, or you pay the €45 day pass at reception, which is posted on the sign at the entrance desk. Most oneworld and SkyTeam economy passengers at HAM end up here rather than in any airline-branded lounge, since Lufthansa keeps its own in a different area.

Food runs to basic hot trays and cold snacks, closer to cafeteria than restaurant quality; multiple reviews call it “mediocre” and not much better than grabbing something downstairs. Expect a couple of hot items, some bread, cheese, and sweets, but nothing you would plan an extra 60 minutes for.

Drinks include self-serve coffee machines, soft drinks, and standard beer and wine, all included in the entry or day pass price. Spirits show up on a simple back counter, not a big bar, so think basic mixed drinks rather than craft cocktails.

Wi‑Fi is free and uses the airport network; you enter an email address on login and speeds are reported as “fine” for streaming and normal browsing. Power outlets sit along the walls and near some of the window seats, but not at every single chair, so charge up when you find one.

Two shower rooms are available, but you must leave a deposit for the key at the front desk and there is usually just one staff member handling it. At busy times this creates a short queue, so budget at least 15–20 minutes if you want a shower before an evening flight.

Noise is the main downside: the lounge is open to the terminal below, and FlyerTalk regulars complain that announcements and crowd noise echo straight up from the concourse. Many frequent flyers now treat this as a place to sit and work on Level 3 rather than as a dining stop.

Tip: if your gate is on the T1 side, leave the lounge about 20 minutes before boarding to walk back down from Level 3, hit the restroom on the main level, and still reach your gate without rushing.
