Flughafenstrasse 1-3, Hamburg Airport, Terminal 1, 22335 Hamburg, Germany

Two daily Emirates departures out of T1 get their own lounge upstairs at Hamburg, and it sits directly opposite the generic Airport Lounge on the same corridor.

The Emirates Lounge sits airside in Terminal T1’s non‑Schengen area, on the upper level above the main departures floor, with the contract Airport Lounge on the right and Emirates on the left as you step out of the elevator. Signage near passport control in T1 points you toward the lounge elevators and stairs, so you don’t have to circle the gate area guessing.

Doors usually open only around the two Emirates flights per day, not all day like many hub lounges, and closing time tracks boarding rather than the wider airport schedule. If you arrive at HAM three or four hours before the first EK departure, expect the contract Airport Lounge opposite to open slightly earlier than Emirates, based on blogger timing notes.

Access is limited to Emirates Business and First Class passengers plus eligible Skywards elite members on non‑Schengen departures, with no published paid day pass option at Hamburg. If you are downgraded from Business to Economy on EK from HAM, don’t count on buying your way in at the desk the way you might at some third‑party lounges.

The big selling point is privacy: this is a dedicated Emirates space serving just those two daily flights, not the dozens of airlines funneled into the contract Airport Lounge across the hall. Seating fills more around the evening departure wave, but reviews consistently note that the Emirates side stays calmer than the right‑hand contract lounge during the same window.

Food and drink follow the outstation template: hot buffet with Middle Eastern‑leaning options, cold salads, and self‑pour alcohol instead of a staffed bar, mirroring what you’d see at smaller EK stations like OSL or PRG. If you plan to eat a full meal, aim to arrive 90 minutes before scheduled departure so you can finish at a normal pace before boarding is called.

One practical tip: when you reach the lounge level from the elevator above T1 non‑Schengen gates, turn left immediately for Emirates and right for the Airport Lounge, and double‑check the logo on the door so you don’t burn time signing into the wrong lounge.
