Gate-side reading stop in Terminal A

Right in Terminal A at Hannover Airport, Press and Books covers the basics for a short-haul hop or a longer trip. You’ll find German and international newspapers, weekly magazines, and a solid rack of paperbacks that actually fit in a small cabin bag. It sits airside, so you can grab something to read after security while you watch the A-gate boarding screens.

The shop focuses on print, snacks, and small travel add-ons rather than electronics. Expect current German titles front and center, with some English-language fiction and business books mixed in. Prices sit at standard German airport levels, so a magazine can easily hit €7–€10 and paperbacks trend a couple of euros above downtown shops. You’ll also see basic stationery, postcards with HAJ/Hannover prints, plus the usual candy and bottled drinks to pad out a carry-on.

Hours track the main Terminal A flight bank, with doors generally open from early morning check-in waves through the late-evening departures around 22:00. That means you can still grab a newspaper before a 06:30 boarding call or a puzzle book before the final outbound of the day. If your flight leaves from Terminal B or C, walking over through the post-security connector usually takes under 10 minutes.

Practical tip: use Press and Books as your backup if the gate kiosk runs out of international papers. Walk through Terminal A toward the mid-hall gates, shop first, restroom second, then head to boarding so you’re not stuck in the queue without something to read.
