Airport Frischecenter by Edeka

A

Gate area in Terminal A is where you’ll spot Airport Frischecenter by Edeka.

This is the main supermarket-style shop in Terminal A at Hannover Airport, good if you want real groceries instead of just candy and magazines. It sits airside in the Schengen area, so you can stock up after security. Expect regular Edeka pricing rather than souvenir markups, with basics like water, snacks, and sandwiches only slightly higher than in town.

Airport Frischecenter by Edeka usually opens early in the morning to catch the first departures out of Terminal A and stays open into the evening bank of flights. You’ll find bottled water, soft drinks, sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, nuts, and some hot coffee options, plus standard travel items like toothpaste, tissues, and over-the-counter painkillers. It feels more like a small city supermarket than a typical airport kiosk.

Food quality lines up with a normal Edeka: packaged salads and sandwiches are fine for a short-hop flight from Hannover, and baked goods turn over steadily around the 06:00–09:00 wave. Alcohol selection includes basic German beer and a few wines, so you can grab something before heading to friends or family. Prices on sweets and chocolate are often better than at nearby souvenir stands in Terminal A or B.

One practical play: buy a 1.5L bottle of water and some snacks here in Terminal A instead of paying per-drink prices on board, especially on low-cost carriers using Hannover. If you’re tight on time, check the distance to your gate first and only swing by if you have at least 10–15 minutes before boarding starts.
