Heinemann Duty Free

B

Gate-side duty free stop in Terminal B

Right in Terminal B, Heinemann Duty Free sits on the standard Schengen departures route, so you basically walk past it on the way to your gate. It’s post-security, after the B-checkpoint, so you don’t need extra time before passport control. Layout is typical Heinemann: liquor and perfume first, then cosmetics, then snacks and souvenirs closer to the tills.

Opening hours at Hannover track the main departure banks, usually from early morning check-in waves around 05:00 until the last evening flights out of Terminal B. If you’re on an early TUIfly or Eurowings departure, the lights are normally already on by the time you clear security. Late-night closures can happen after the final sched around 22:00, so don’t save any “last-minute gifts” for after your final outbound.

Prices follow standard German duty free levels, with spirits and cigarettes often a few euros cheaper than downtown Hannover, and cosmetics roughly aligned to big city department stores. Look for multi-pack offers on 1-litre bottles and chocolate “travel editions” near the central promo tables. If you just want water or a snack, you’ll find single bottles and grab-and-go sweets close to the exit, but they’re pricier than the landside supermarket by a couple of euros.

Product range covers the usual duty free basics: 1-litre spirits from major brands, perfume from big houses like Chanel and Dior, skincare, Toblerone-style chocolate packs, and Hannover or Germany-branded souvenirs by the till. Stock depth is better on mainstream items; niche whisky or rare perfume lines are hit-or-miss compared with larger hubs like FRA or MUC. Ask at the counter about any current 2-for deals printed on shelf tags if you’re buying more than one item.

Quick tip: if your gate in Terminal B is near the end of the pier, shop first as you exit security, because there’s no second Heinemann satellite closer to the B20s.
