Le Prêt-à-Manger

T1

T1’s Le Prêt-à-Manger sits landside, before security

You find Le Prêt-à-Manger in Terminal T1’s public area, handy if you arrive early by train at Genève Aéroport and want a sit-down meal before security. It runs through the day in line with terminal hours, so breakfast, midday and early evening are all covered without hunting inside the gate area.

The menu leans French-Swiss: expect quiches, salads, sandwiches and plated dishes rather than fast food. Prices track Geneva city cafés, so plan around CHF 15–25 for a light meal and closer to CHF 30 if you add dessert and a drink. Portions are more “European” than US, so order a starter if you are genuinely hungry.

Coffee and drinks are the safer bet here. A basic espresso or café crème comes in around CHF 4–5, and you can usually get wine by the glass in the CHF 7–10 range. That makes it a reasonable spot to sit with a drink and charge devices for 30–40 minutes before heading to security in T1.

Service pace follows local norms, so a full seated meal can easily run 45–60 minutes from sit-down to bill during busy times. If your flight out of T1 boards in under an hour, stick to pre-made items from the display and pay at the counter. Staff are used to airport timing, but you still need to signal clearly when you want l’addition.

Seating is standard café tables with decent people-watching over T1’s departures hall. Power outlets are limited, so charge at the train station level downstairs if you need a full battery before a long-haul. One last tip: clear liquids and any leftovers before security in T1, as you still pass the usual 100 ml checks on the way to the gates.
