Le Marche

T1

Gate-side in T1, Le Marche sits on the main departures level

Le Marche sits airside in Terminal T1, a few minutes’ walk from most Schengen gates, so you can keep an eye on a 30–40 minute boarding window without stress. It runs through the main daytime bank, typically opening before the early morning wave and staying active into the early evening, so it works for both a 07:00 departure and a 17:30 delay.

This is a self-service market-style spot, with prices a notch above downtown Geneva: expect around CHF 6–7 for a coffee and pastry combo and CHF 18–22 for a hot plate. You grab a tray, pick from salads, hot dishes, and desserts, then pay at the central till, which helps when you’ve got only 20 minutes before a 12:10 flight.

Food skews Swiss-European: think rösti-style potatoes, simple grilled meat or fish plates, mixed salads, and tarts, usually listed in French and English on overhead boards. Portions run medium, not huge; one main plus water will do for most people on a short-haul run to Paris or Zurich. Kids’ options are usually just smaller pastas or basic chicken with fries, nothing complicated but fast to serve.

Drinks lean practical: espresso-based coffee, soft drinks, bottled water, and standard airport beers and wines; a glass of Swiss wine typically lands around CHF 9–11. Filter water carafes are rare here, so plan on buying at least one 50 cl bottle for your 2–3 hour sector. There’s enough seating for a full A320 load, but power outlets are limited along the wall tables.

Service is counter-style with trays returned to racks near the exit; clearing your own table speeds turnover during the 11:30–13:30 crunch. Lines grow fastest just after the big wave of EasyJet departures around midday. Best move: hit Le Marche either before 11:30 or after 13:30, eat, then grab a takeaway drink on your way to the gate.
