Le Bar Bleu

T1

Gate-side drinks in T1 with full runway views

Le Bar Bleu sits airside in Terminal T1 at Geneva Airport, right by several Schengen gates, so it works for a last drink or snack before boarding. You’ll see it on the main departures level, past security, with bar stools facing the windows toward the runway. It’s a true bar-first setup, not a full restaurant, though there are enough small plates to count as a light meal before a 2–3 hour flight.

Expect airport bar pricing: a glass of Swiss wine or a basic cocktail often lands in the CHF 10–18 range, with soft drinks around CHF 5–6. Food skews simple—think sandwiches, bar snacks, maybe a cheese or charcuterie-style plate—usually between CHF 9 and CHF 20 depending on how hungry you are. You pay at the bar, and they run standard airport hours in T1, typically from early morning bank (around the first 06:00 departures) through the late evening wave of flights.

Seating is mostly high stools at the counter and a few small tables along the windows, so it’s better for one or two people than a big group of six. Turnover tracks the departure peaks from Geneva, with late afternoon and early evening around 17:00–20:00 often the busiest. There are power outlets near some of the window seats, so if you snag one you can top up a laptop or phone before a 2–3 hour hop to London, Paris, or Madrid.

Food and drink menus lean European, with Swiss beer labels and regional wines in the mix, plus standard long drinks like gin and tonic or Aperol Spritz that you’ll see in most T1 bars. Service rhythm matches the flight banks: quicker when it’s quiet mid-morning around 10:00, more rushed when several gates are boarding at once. Staff work in French and English, with some also switching easily to German or Italian, which helps given GVA’s mix of passengers.

Tip: if your gate is in T1 but not yet showing boarding, aim to close your tab at least 20 minutes before scheduled departure; some Schengen gates at GVA trigger final call surprisingly early.
