Route 25 hits GNV about once an hour on weekdays
RTS Route 25 is the only Gainesville city bus that runs directly to Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV, Terminal T), connecting the airport with the University of Florida area and downtown. The stop sits just outside the main terminal doors, so you’re on the curb in under 2 minutes after exiting baggage claim.
On a typical weekday when UF is in session, Route 25 runs roughly every 60 minutes during daytime hours, with first trips around 6:00–7:00 a.m. and service tapering off by early evening. Weekend and semester-break schedules are thinner, and some days may have only a handful of trips, so pull up the exact timetable before you land or leave for the airport.
Standard RTS cash fare is usually under $2 per ride, and UF students, faculty, and staff often ride RTS free with a valid Gator 1 Card that the driver can see when you board. You pay at the front door, so have small bills or a pass ready; drivers on Route 25 do not make change on the bus.
Downtown Gainesville is about 6–8 miles from GNV, and a full Route 25 ride between the airport and central stops can run 25–40 minutes depending on traffic around NE 39th Avenue and campus. Count on at least one stop every few blocks once you’re closer to the UF area, which adds a few extra minutes compared with a direct rideshare.
RTS typically posts holiday and break schedules weeks in advance, and Route 25 can shift times or drop frequency outside the main UF semester. If you are catching an 8:00 a.m. departure from GNV, target a bus that gets you to the airport at least 90 minutes ahead, which usually means catching a Route 25 trip 2 hours before your scheduled flight time.
Practical tip: screenshot the current RTS Route 25 timetable and route map before you fly, so if cell service drops near NE 39th Avenue or the airport Wi‑Fi is slow, you still know exactly which time and stop you need.
