Post-security in T1 at Owen Roberts International (GCM), Starbucks shows up on some general maps, but FlyerTalk regulars barely mention it and instead rave about The Brasserie’s Market in town for what they call the “best on island” gourmet coffee. Figure this location as a basic caffeine stop, not a destination worth rearranging your schedule around.

Expect standard Starbucks pricing with an island markup: think a latte that might run a couple Cayman dollars higher than your usual USD airport spend, and pastries in the CI$4–6 range. Food and drink options track the global menu more than local Cayman specials, so don’t bank on unique island-only drinks here. The 3/5 rating lines up with that: serviceable, not memorable.

Hours at GCM tend to mirror flight banks, with shops in T1 opening ahead of the first morning departures around 5:30–6:00 a.m. and closing after the last evening flights, so this Starbucks mainly serves outbound passengers clearing security the same day. If you have an early Cayman Airways or American departure, this is likely open for a grab-and-go coffee before you board.

What regulars actually do: coffee-focused travelers on FlyerTalk point people to The Brasserie’s Market beside The Brasserie restaurant in George Town, about 10–15 minutes’ drive from GCM, and to a handful of Seven Mile Beach cafés instead of mentioning this Starbucks at all. Frequent visitors often grab a serious espresso in town, then treat any airport coffee, including this, as backup only.

Practical move: if you care about coffee and have at least an extra 30–40 minutes before heading to GCM, hit The Brasserie’s Market or another George Town café first; if you’re already through T1 security with boarding starting in 25 minutes at a nearby gate, this Starbucks is fine for a quick drip or basic latte, but don’t expect “best on island” quality here.
