Near Gate 5 in T1, Sweet Colors is the easy souvenir stop

On the departures level of Terminal T1, Sweet Colors sits between other small shops and the main seating area, so you pass it on the way to gates 1–10. It runs through the main daytime bank of flights, usually open from early morning check-ins until the last evening departures out of FNC. This is a post-security option, so you can pick something up after clearing the single terminal checkpoint.

Sweet Colors focuses on souvenirs rather than travel gear: think island-themed trinkets, small toys, and bright Madeira gifts instead of chargers or adapters. Prices lean toward impulse buys, with many items under €15 and plenty of kid-friendly bits you can hand over on the plane. It works well if you forgot to grab a token from Funchal city and only realise it at boarding time.

Stock skews more to fun and colourful than to serious local craftsmanship, so if you want high-end Madeira wine or embroidered linens, buy those in town or at the larger duty free further along in T1. Use Sweet Colors for last-minute keyrings, magnets, or small gifts that fit easily into a cabin bag without pushing you over the typical 8–10 kg hand-luggage limit.

Quick tip: stop here after security but before you head to your exact gate; some FNC gate areas have limited shopping once you walk all the way down the pier.
