Gate-side souvenir stop in T1 for last-minute Madeira gifts

Five minutes from most T1 gates at FNC, Portfolio focuses on Madeira-themed souvenirs rather than generic “Portugal” gear. You’ll see it on the main airside walkway after security in Terminal 1, so you don’t need to backtrack far from boarding areas. It’s fully post-security, so this is a safe stop even with a 45–60 minute buffer before departure.

Prices sit in the mid-range: expect fridge magnets around €4–5, mugs near €10, and small notebooks or calendars between €6–12. Compared with the duty free shop in T1, Portfolio skews more to printed gifts and keepsakes than food or alcohol. Staff generally handle card payments quickly, which matters when you’re boarding in 20 minutes and just want one item.

Stock leans heavily on Cristiano Ronaldo and island imagery: think CR7-themed items, Cabo Girão photos, and Pico do Arieiro prints on everything from keyrings to tote bags. You won’t find fresh bolo do caco here; that’s over in the food outlets in Terminal 1’s main hall. If you want Madeira wine or honey cake, the duty free near the same concourse does a better job.

Opening hours usually track daytime departures at Cristiano Ronaldo International, so figure roughly first morning flights until the last evening wave in T1. That means early Ryanair and easyJet passengers still get a quick shot at souvenirs after security. Tip: snap your photos of the runway and cliffs first, then use the final 10–15 minutes before boarding to grab a small, packable item here.
