Beach towels and joke gifts under €15 before T1 boarding
Ale-Hop in Faro Airport’s T1 sits airside in departures, so you pass it after security on the way to the gates. The shop feels like the downtown Ale-Hop stores you see around Portugal and Spain, just in a smaller footprint. Think last-minute inflatable beach balls, sun hats, and flip-flops that usually sit in the €5–€20 range, plus novelty gifts and silly cow-branded items everywhere.
Opening hours generally track daytime departures, roughly 06:00 until the late evening wave, but expect shorter hours in the off-season compared with July–August. Prices run slightly higher than high-street Ale-Hop in Faro city or Albufeira, but still below typical duty free gift-shop levels. It’s a quick stop if you realise your SPF 30, sunglasses, or beach bag are still in the hotel room.
Stock leans summer: kids’ toys, small pool inflatables, water bottles, and cotton throws that work as a beach towel in a pinch. You’ll also see the usual Ale-Hop stationery, mini gadgets, and gag gifts, many under €10. Don’t bank on clothing in full size runs; it’s more T-shirts and caps than full outfits, and selection shrinks outside peak July–September traffic.
Use it as a top‑up, not a full shop: grab one or two missing beach items or a cheap souvenir instead of rebuilding a whole packing list. If you care about price, cap your spend here and do any larger gift run at a city-centre Ale-Hop before heading back to FAO T1.
