Iberian sandwich chain Pans & Company shows up at FAO T1
Pans & Company sits airside in Terminal 1 at Faro Airport, after security and passport control, so you can eat right up to boarding. It’s the same Spanish/Iberian fast-casual brand you see across Spain and Portugal, focused on baguette-style sandwiches made to order at the counter. Expect a grab-and-go setup rather than table service, with trays, self-service drinks, and a view of nearby Schengen departure gates.
Menu basics: grilled chicken, serrano ham, and bacon sandwiches on crusty baguettes, plus salads and fries. You’ll also see breakfast items in the morning, usually including simple ham-and-cheese options and pastries alongside espresso-based coffee. Pricing tracks typical airport fast food: think roughly €6–€9 for a sandwich, €2–€3 for coffee, and a bit more for combo menus with fries and a drink.
Hours follow the main wave of departures in T1, generally opening early in the morning in time for 06:00–07:00 flights and staying open into the late evening bank. If you land from a Ryanair or easyJet hop before 08:00, this is often one of the first spots with hot food and a proper coffee machine running. Turnover is quick, so it works on 40–60 minute connections within Schengen.
Service runs counter-order, then pick-up, and food usually comes out within 5–10 minutes unless three or more flights dump passengers at once. Vegetarian choices exist but are limited to things like cheese or veggie sandwiches and salads, so check the board carefully before queuing. Soft drinks and bottled water sit in fridges by the till, and you pay there before heading back toward gates in T1.
Tip: if your gate is called at the far end of Terminal 1, grab your sandwich and coffee to go; walking time from the central Pans & Company area to the outer gates can hit 8–10 minutes when the terminal is busy.
