AH to go

Gate-side snacks without a restaurant sit-down

AH to go sits airside in T1 at Eindhoven Airport, just past security, and works like a normal Albert Heijn grab-and-go. You get supermarket pricing in an airport, which is rare, so bottled drinks, sandwiches, and fruit usually land under €5 per item instead of full restaurant markups.

Opening hours generally track the first and last flights of the day in T1, so it’s usually open from early morning departures through the late evening Ryanair and Wizz Air runs. That makes it one of the few spots where you can grab a coffee and pastry before a 06:00 flight without queuing at a bar.

You’ll see the usual Dutch supermarket staples: AH-branded sandwiches, salads, stroopwafels, and canned drinks in the 330 ml range, plus basics like gum and 100 ml-size toiletries that fit EU security rules. Coffee from the self-service machines sits in the €2–3 range, and pre-packed sandwiches tend to run around €3–4.

There’s no seating at AH to go in T1, so plan to carry everything back to your gate. It’s a quick in-and-out stop and works well if your boarding pass shows a tight 30–40 minute window between security and departure and you don’t want to wait for table service.

Practical tip: do a fast scan of the fridges before heading to the register; the chilled items closest to the entrance tend to sell out first on busy Friday afternoon flights to London and Spain, but the units deeper inside often still have better sandwich choices.
