Upstairs

Zero online chatter, but Upstairs is here in T1

Upstairs sits airside in Terminal T1 at Eindhoven Airport, above the main departures hall, and barely shows up in frequent-flyer forums. That low profile means you’re relying on the board and the menu at the door rather than blogger reviews. It’s a sit-down option, so budget at least 45 minutes if your flight boards from a Schengen gate like Gate 3 or Gate 8.

Pricing runs in typical European-airport territory: think around €4–€5 for coffee, €8–€12 for a sandwich or light plate, and over €6 for a beer or wine. That’s higher than the landside kiosks near check-in rows 1–16, but you trade up from a takeaway counter to a table, a server, and a bit of calm above the main floor.

Food focus leans toward standard cafe fare you’d expect in a small Dutch airport: toasties, simple hot dishes, and pastries that pair with an espresso or cappuccino. If you want the cheapest bite before a Ryanair or Wizz Air hop, grab a pastry and coffee combo under €10 rather than a full plate. There’s usually enough variety on the drinks side to cover soft drinks, beer, and a couple of wines by the glass.

There are no consistent online complaints about Upstairs yet, which is telling in itself for a venue inside T1 that serves hundreds of passengers a day. The trade-off: service can still skew to airport pace, so don’t sit down here at T‑20 for a flight boarding from a remote stand that uses bus gates at the far end of the pier.

Tip: Check your gate on the FIDS screens near security before walking up; if your flight departs from a non-Schengen stand or a bus gate, cap your stop at Upstairs to one drink so you’re back at the gate 30 minutes before boarding time.
