Taste of Ireland

T1 ★ 2.5

T1 passengers treat this place as a snack-and-gift grab

In Terminal T1, Taste of Ireland leans more shop than restaurant, and most people duck in for last-minute Irish-branded snacks before boarding. You’ll see shelves of crisps, chocolate, biscuits and souvenir-style food items rather than a full sit-down layout. The airport lists it under restaurants, but it behaves more like a takeaway kiosk for anyone already through T1 security and walking toward the gates.

Pricing runs airport-high: expect single snack items around €3–€5 and boxed gift treats closer to €8–€15, depending on the brand. Drinks usually sit in the €2–€4 zone for soft drinks and bottled water. There’s no table service and very limited space to linger, so plan on grabbing something and eating at your gate in T1. The 2.5-star rating is about what you’d expect for a place that prioritises souvenir appeal over serious food.

Food options skew pre-packaged: multi-pack crisps, branded shortbread, novelty chocolate and sometimes small pre-made sandwiches or pastries. If you actually need a proper meal in T1, you’re better off walking a few minutes to one of the larger cafés or sit-down spots with hot food on the departures level. Use Taste of Ireland for a final packet of Tayto or a gift box of Irish fudge rather than breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Think of it as the “I forgot to buy something Irish in town” stop, right before you hit your T1 gate. Stock can turn over quickly on peak days, especially around bank holidays and summer Saturdays, so the best shelves are usually earlier in the day before the afternoon wave of departures. One practical move: set a hard limit—say €20—before you walk in, or it’s easy to walk out of T1 with an overweight carry-on full of biscuits.
