Butlers Chocolate Café

T1 Open · 08:00 - 21:00 ★ 2.5

Boxed Irish chocolates and coffee in T1 before you fly

By Gate-side in Terminal T1, Butlers Chocolate Café doubles as a coffee stop and a last-minute souvenir stand for Irish chocolates. It opens daily from 08:00 to 21:00, so it catches most European departures but not the earliest first wave. Everything is post-security, so you can pick up a gift box after you clear the T1 checkpoint and head straight to your gate.

The menu leans on coffee, hot chocolate, and pastry, plus boxed Butlers chocolates in different sizes. Prices sit in standard airport territory: expect mid-single digits in euros for a latte and more as you move into larger chocolate assortments. There’s no table-service; you order at the counter, grab your drink, and either perch at limited seating or walk it to the gate.

That 2.5-star rating tracks with feedback that it’s fine for caffeine and branded sweets, but not a destination for food. Think pre-packaged sandwiches or small snacks at best, with better meal options elsewhere in T1. If you care about coffee quality over branding, you might be happier at another café in the terminal and then swing back here only for the chocolate boxes.

The real reason to stop is the range of Butlers gift boxes with clearly marked prices in euros, easy to expense or split between family. Boxes are airport-friendly and fit easily in a standard cabin bag under 55 x 40 x 24 cm, so you won’t get grief at the gate. Staff usually know the shelf life and ingredients, useful if you’re taking chocolates onward on a same-day connection from T1 to T2.

Tip: if you want chocolates for multiple people, buy one or two larger mixed boxes at Butlers in T1 and divide them later, instead of paying a premium for several small “single” packs.
