Pre-security caffeine in T1 before you join the queues
AMT Coffee in Dublin Airport T1 sits landside, before security, and is one of the first places open for early flights. It’s the grab-and-go option many passengers hit at 04:30–06:30 when the terminal starts filling and they just want caffeine in hand before the lines build.
This is a kiosk-style setup in T1, not a full sit‑down café, so think takeaway cups, pastry case, and a few perches nearby rather than tables. Coffee quality tracks its 2.5-star reputation: fine for a quick latte or Americano, not something you’d cross from T2 for. Expect airport pricing, with basic coffees in the €3–€4 range and pastries a bit higher than the city.
Menu is standard AMT: espresso drinks, tea, hot chocolate, and a short list of muffins and croissants. If you’re catching a Ryanair or Aer Lingus short‑haul out of T1, it’s a simple move to grab a large cappuccino and a croissant here instead of gambling on your gate having anything open at 05:00.
Service is geared to volume at peak times, especially on Sunday mornings when several UK flights leave within 90 minutes. Lines can build 10–15 people deep, but they usually keep things moving and can clear a small queue in under 5 minutes unless a big tour group arrives.
Watch out for timing: landside options thin out after late morning, and this kiosk can run low on fresh pastries by 10:00 or so. If you want food as well as coffee before a midday departure from T1, you may be better off leaving extra time for airside spots nearer the gates.
Tip: if your check‑in desk in T1 opens at 03:30, check bags first, then hit AMT Coffee straight after; showing up with caffeine already in hand makes the security queue feel a lot shorter.
