VIP Parking Area

Premium

50–100 metres from Terminal 1, this is DMK’s pay-up-close option

VIP Parking Area sits right by Don Mueang’s Terminal 1, so you’re walking a couple of minutes to departures instead of waiting for shuttles. It’s classed as the airport’s premium car park, aimed at drivers who value proximity over saving every last baht. Signage at DMK labels it clearly as “VIP Parking Area,” so you won’t confuse it with the standard long‑stay zones further out.

This lot mainly serves Terminal 1 international flights, but it also works for Terminal 2 domestic if you’re okay with a 5–10 minute covered walk between terminals. The layout is simple: drive in, take a ticket from the barrier, and park in any free bay. Because this is a premium area, expect higher daily rates than the regular DMK parking buildings; check the posted tariff board at the entrance before you commit to multi‑day stays.

Security is tighter here than in some of the outer lots, with controlled gate access and patrols around the VIP Parking Area perimeter. Lighting runs across the rows at night, which helps if you arrive on one of the late‑evening flights DMK handles past 22:00. Mark your row number as soon as you park; the lines of similar‑looking cars can feel endless at 01:00 after a delayed arrival.

No dedicated shuttle runs from VIP Parking Area because you’re already within walking distance of Terminal 1 and the main terminal forecourt. Lifts and ramps in the nearby terminal structures make it manageable if you’re rolling two checked‑size suitcases toward the check‑in islands. If you’re dropping someone for a flight that closes check‑in 45–60 minutes before departure, parking here instead of circling the curb usually saves 10–15 minutes of stress.

Tip: DMK’s morning bank between 06:00 and 09:00 fills nearby car parks fast, so aim to reach VIP Parking Area at least 90 minutes before your flight if you’re flying out in that window.
