Coaches park in the Bus Parking Area east of DMK

The Bus Parking Area sits on the east side of Don Mueang International Airport, set up specifically for tour and charter coaches rather than private cars. It serves both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, so groups flying on Thai AirAsia, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air and other low‑cost carriers can use the same coach zone. This is where most large tour buses load and unload before heading to hotels in central Bangkok, usually 25–40 km away depending on route.

This is a surface lot with marked bays for full‑size coaches and minibuses, not an indoor garage. Access roads link the Bus Parking Area directly to the airport ring road that connects to Vibhavadi Rangsit Road (Highway 31), one of the main arteries into Bangkok. Drivers use this zone for both drop‑off and longer waits between flight arrivals, so it typically has a regular turnover of buses through the day and late into the evening.

Expect walk times of roughly 5–10 minutes between the Bus Parking Area and the main terminal buildings, depending on which side of DMK your airline uses. Terminal 1 handles most international flights, while Terminal 2 handles most domestic routes, and coaches can be scheduled to meet passengers outside either terminal. Many tour operators pre‑assign a meeting point near specific terminal doors, so check your voucher for the exact door number or signboard name before you land.

If you are arranging your own coach, confirm in writing that the driver has access to the official Bus Parking Area at Don Mueang and is not waiting on a random roadside nearby. Share your terminal number (1 or 2) and flight arrival time with the operator, and pick a clear landmark at the terminal doors so your group can move together and board quickly when the coach pulls into its marked bay.
