Trains run roughly every 10–15 minutes, and the ride from Airport (T3) station to New Delhi station clocks in at about 18–20 minutes end to end.

Fares start around ₹20 and top out near ₹60 for a one-way ride between Airport (T3) and New Delhi station, which undercuts even budget app cabs on most days. You can tap in with a smart card or buy a single-journey token at the machines next to the gates, and you clear the platform gates with standard metro-style security in under 5–10 minutes if lines are short.

The station at the airport directly serves T3 via an underground link, and a free shuttle bus connects T1 and T2 to T3 in around 10–15 minutes depending on traffic. First and last trains vary by station, but the Airport (T3) station typically runs from around 4:45 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., so very late-night and ultra-early flights may push you back to taxis or rideshares.

Trains stop at six stations in total, including key central points like New Delhi, Shivaji Stadium, and Dhaula Kuan, and you can interchange to the Yellow Line at New Delhi or the Pink Line at Dhaula Kuan in about 5–10 minutes of walking. Luggage-friendly coaches have wider doors and dedicated standing space, but you still haul your bag up and down a few short escalators or lifts at most stations.

Expect air-conditioned trains, CCTV coverage, and on-board announcements in Hindi and English calling out each station by name. A typical airport run from T3 to central Delhi including ticket purchase, a max 10-minute wait, and the 18–20 minute ride usually lands you curbside near Connaught Place in roughly 35–40 minutes, which beats peak-hour ring-road traffic that can hit 60–90 minutes.

Step-by-step: using the Airport Express Line

• 1. Reach T3 station: From T3 arrivals, follow “Airport Metro Express” signs for about 5–7 minutes on foot; from T1 or T2, take the free inter-terminal bus to T3 in 10–15 minutes.
• 2. Clear security: Join the metro security line at the station entrance; bag screening and frisking usually take 3–8 minutes unless there is a peak-time queue.
• 3. Buy your ticket: Use the vending machines or staffed counter to buy a token or load a smart card; a one-way T3–New Delhi fare is under ₹60 at current rates.
• 4. Enter the paid area: Tap your card or drop the token at the AFC gate, and head down one level to the Airport Express Line platform via escalator or elevator.
• 5. Board the next train: Check the LED display for “New Delhi” or “Dwarka Sector 21” direction and wait in the marked boarding areas; trains arrive about every 10–15 minutes in normal hours.
• 6. Ride to your stop: Stay on for 5 intermediate stations or about 18–20 minutes if you are going all the way to New Delhi, and listen for bilingual announcements naming each station.
