Handloom House

T3

Near the T3 security area, Handloom House stands out for last‑minute textile gifts.

This shop sits airside in Cochin International Airport’s Terminal T3, so you can visit after security without risking your boarding time. It focuses on Kerala handloom products rather than generic souvenirs, so it’s one of the few spots in T3 where you’ll see real cotton fabrics instead of only keychains and magnets.

Handloom House stocks items like kasavu shawls, cotton stoles, lungis, and simple kurtas, with many pieces under ₹1,500 and smaller items such as handkerchief sets under ₹300. Compared to downtown Kochi, prices run a bit higher, but still reasonable for an airport shop, and you’re paying for the convenience of buying in T3 right before an international flight.

Quality skews better than the average tourist stall: seams on the kurtas feel solid, and the gold borders on kasavu items usually sit flat rather than scratchy. Color runs can happen with deep reds and blues, so wash anything under ₹2,000 separately the first time. If you’re short on space, lighter cotton stoles fold down small enough to fit in a laptop sleeve.

There’s no posted closing time online, but most shops in Cochin T3 track the international schedule and stay open for late‑night departures after 23:00. Figure 10–15 minutes to browse properly, including a quick look at the saree section. Card payments in INR are standard here, and many cashiers accept international credit cards with no drama.

Plan your visit right after clearing security in Terminal T3, before you get locked into waiting near a distant gate with no time to walk back for souvenirs.
