Gate-side carbs at PAUL in CMN Terminal 1
In Terminal T1 at Mohammed V Airport, PAUL is the familiar French bakery name you see after security when you want something recognizable before a Royal Air Maroc flight. It functions as a standard café-boulangerie: counter service, pastry case, sandwiches, and coffee you can grab in under 10 minutes if the line isn’t crazy.
Expect typical PAUL pricing: coffee runs higher than in central Casablanca, and a pastry plus drink can easily hit 70–90 MAD. That’s still cheaper than many full-service spots in T1, and you get a clear price board at the counter, so you can decide fast if you’re buying just a croissant or a full sandwich combo before heading to gates in the low teens.
Food is standard chain output: baguette sandwiches, quiches, and classic French pastries coming out in batches through the day. If you’re boarding a medium-haul flight under 4 hours, a sandwich from PAUL plus a water is usually more reliable than banking on a full tray meal, especially on busier morning departures around 08:00–10:00 from T1.
Seating around PAUL is limited and spills into the general departure hall of Terminal 1, so assume you might end up at a shared table or standing at a ledge near your gate. Groups of 3–4 often struggle to find seats together during the evening bank of departures around 18:00–21:00, when T1 is at its peak.
Service style is quick order, pay, then wait for your drink or heated items; you’ll usually hear your name or see your tray on the counter within 5–7 minutes unless you hit a rush just after a widebody arrival into T1. Smart move: ask for everything to go and carry it to your gate, so you’re not stuck hunting for seats right in front of the café.
