10 steps from the Main Terminal curb, someone else parks.
At CID’s Valet Parking, you pull up next to the Main Terminal, hand over the keys, and head straight for check-in without rolling a bag through the outdoor lot. It’s true curbside valet, not “valet-style” self-park across the road, and it sits directly beside the terminal entrance rather than in a remote structure.
This is the airport’s only full-service valet option, marketed as premium parking for business travelers and anyone avoiding Iowa winter wind and ice. You drop the car in front of the Main Terminal doors, then staff move it to a secure area while you walk a few seconds to the ticket counters and TSA. On return, they bring the car back to the same curb, so you’re not dragging bags through snow or rain.
Pricing is the one opaque piece: the airport does not list a daily valet rate on the main parking page, only standard self-park prices. To get an actual number, you have to either click through the online booking / valet details or call the airport parking line and ask what the per-day surcharge is over long-term or short-term self-park. Budget a premium over the posted garage and surface rates.
Since there are no widely reported complaints or hacks, assume standard small-airport valet: limited staff, better during normal daytime bank hours, and potentially slower during early-morning rushes before 7:00 a.m. or late-night arrivals after 10:00 p.m. If your schedule is tight, pad in a few extra minutes at drop-off and pickup for paperwork and key handoff.
Tip: Call CID parking a day or two before your trip, confirm the current per-day valet price and operating hours, and write both on your itinerary so you’re not guessing at the bill when you land back in Cedar Rapids.
