Starbucks

After midnight in CGK Terminal 2, Starbucks is still open

In Terminal 2 at Soekarno–Hatta (CGK), Starbucks is one of the few brand-name spots that keeps serving when red-eyes to places like Singapore and Kuala Lumpur go out after 00:00. It’s post-security, price tier is firmly $$, and you’ll pay more than at Jakarta city branches for the same latte or cappuccino. Think airport markup on every drink and snack, but reliable staff and familiar menu when most other cafés have the shutters down.

Expect the standard lineup: hot and iced espresso drinks, Frappuccinos, bottled water, and the usual cakes and sandwiches. A tall latte often runs closer to central Jakarta prices for a grande, and Google Maps reviews call this out as a regular annoyance. Food portions are small compared with the cost, so using this as a full meal stop before a Terminal 2 international departure can get expensive fast.

Seating in the Starbucks zone inside T2 often fills with people camping overnight on early flights around 02:00–05:00. FlyerTalk users mention only a handful of fast food outlets and this Starbucks staying open 24 hours, so every stranded passenger gravitates here. Tables disappear quickly and it’s common to see travelers stretched across multiple chairs trying to sleep, which makes it hard to find a place to sit with your drink.

Power outlets are another weak point: several reviewers report that many sockets near the Starbucks seats in Terminal 2 either don’t work or are already occupied by long-haul passengers charging phones and power banks. Regulars with late departures often grab a drink here, then walk a few gates down to quieter seating areas to wait, or bring their own food and just buy the cheapest coffee to justify using a chair.

Tip: if you need caffeine before a late-night flight from CGK Terminal 2, buy your drink, then immediately scout nearby gate areas for a free seat and a working outlet instead of hanging around inside Starbucks.
