Bakmi GM

2

Locals actually stop in Terminal 2 early just to eat here

Bakmi GM in Soekarno–Hatta Terminal 2 is where Jakarta flyers grab one last bowl of bakmi before boarding. This is the same chain you see in the city malls, so the noodles and toppings taste like the “real” Jakarta version, just inside the airport. Portions run in the 30,000–60,000 IDR range, so you’re not paying crazy airport markups compared with downtown.

The restaurant sits airside in Terminal 2, so you need a boarding pass to get to it. Expect standard mall-style seating and a quick-service flow: order at the counter, then wait for your tray. Turnover is fast at peak evening departures from CGK, roughly 18:00–22:00, so you usually see food on the table in under 10–15 minutes.

Stick with the noodles first. Go for a basic bakmi ayam or bakmi special if you want something familiar and under 50,000 IDR, then add pangsit goreng (fried wontons) or bakso (meatballs) if you’re still hungry. Rice dishes and side snacks sit in the same price band, but regulars in town usually rate the noodles higher than the rice plates.

Most tables flip quickly, but allow at least 25–30 minutes from joining the queue to walking away, especially if you’re flying from a bus gate in Terminal 2F. Staff are used to people cutting it close for flights, so they’ll usually call out order numbers loudly across the small dining area.

Tip: if your group needs time, let one person handle check-in at Terminal 2 while the rest grab a table and order; then swap out so everyone gets a hot bowl without stressing the final boarding call.
