Manual brew that tastes like the city, in T3
Gate-side in Terminal 3 at Soekarno–Hatta, Anomali Coffee runs pricier than Starbucks but pulls better shots and manual brews. Think specialty-leaning coffee inside CGK rather than mall-standard chains. Expect drinks in the IDR 40,000–70,000 range, so more than airport kopitiams, less than a sit-down restaurant. It sits airside in T3, so this is for passengers already through security.
Anomali is one of the few spots in T3 where baristas actually talk beans: Sumatra, Toraja, and other Indonesian origins are listed on the board. Reddit coffee nerds call this the only place in CGK where a long black or manual brew feels close to a city café. If you care about flavor clarity, skip the syrup-heavy recipes and ask what single origin is on for pour-over that day.
Prices are steep even by Jakarta café standards, and several reviews point out that this airport branch runs higher than Anomali in town by a noticeable margin. A regular hot manual brew or long black usually sits around IDR 50,000–60,000, while signature iced drinks push toward IDR 70,000 including tax. Figure you’re paying a 20–30% airport premium for better beans than the chains down the hall.
Seating is limited and the shop feels cramped when a couple of flights at nearby gates board at the same time. Expect maybe a dozen seats at most, with some people camping on laptops. If you want a quiet spot to linger for an hour, this isn’t it; grab-and-go works better here, especially during morning banks around 06:00–09:00.
Regulars on Google Maps say they buy whole beans here as souvenirs instead of duty-free chocolates. Shelves carry packaged Indonesian beans labeled by region, often including Toraja and Sumatra, and bags fit easily in carry-ons. Another trick from locals: their signature iced coffees come very sweet by default, so explicitly ask for less sugar or half-sweet when ordering.
Fast tip: if you have under 20 minutes before boarding at Terminal 3, order a long black or Americano instead of manual brew, since pour-over time plus queue can push past 10 minutes when busy.
