Taxi P50.00 flag down + P13.50/km

P50 flag-down gets you a metered White Taxi at CEB

White Taxis serve both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Mactan Cebu International Airport and run on a meter with a P50.00 flag-down rate. After that, the meter adds P13.50 for every kilometer, so you can ballpark the fare if you know your hotel’s distance from the airport in kilometers.

Stands for White Taxis sit outside the arrivals areas of T1 and T2, usually just beyond the baggage claim exits and ground transport signs. These are regular city cabs, not airport-only units, so you’ll see them all over Cebu City, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu as well, which helps with getting back to the airport from town at roughly the same P50.00 + P13.50/km rate.

Drivers should run the meter from P50.00 as soon as the ride starts, so if someone suggests a flat rate of P500 or P800 to Cebu IT Park or Ayala Center, that’s outside the standard metered pricing. A run of about 15 km into central Cebu City typically lands in the P250–P350 range at the P13.50/km rate, depending on traffic and any waiting time added on the meter.

Step-by-step, it goes like this: 1) Exit arrivals at T1 or T2 and follow ground transport signs to the official taxi queue. 2) Join the White Taxi line, which is usually separate from higher-priced options. 3) Tell the dispatcher your destination before you board. 4) Once in the cab, check that the meter starts at P50.00. 5) On arrival, pay the metered fare plus any small change you want to round up; drivers are used to cash in 20s, 50s, and 100s.

Compared with fixed-rate airport vehicles, White Taxis usually come out cheaper on rides under 25–30 km because the P13.50/km pricing stays fairly reasonable even when traffic near Mactan Bridge or in Mandaue gets slow. One practical tip: have small bills ready (P20, P50, P100) since some drivers at CEB claim not to have change for P500 or P1,000 notes on metered fares that are under P400.
