WHSmith

T2

T2’s main WHSmith sits just past security in the departures area

This WHSmith in CCU’s Terminal T2 is your quick stop for books, magazines, drinks, and last-minute travel bits after security. Expect standard Indian airport pricing rather than true street prices, but still fine for grabbing a ₹40–₹80 water bottle, packaged snacks, or a paperback for the flight. It’s one of the more recognizable international brands in the terminal, so easy to spot when you’re short on time before boarding.

Stock leans heavily on packaged snacks, chocolates, soft drinks, and basic stationery, with a smaller rack of English and Bengali newspapers and current bestsellers. You’ll also see the usual travel add-ons: earphones, power banks, neck pillows, and simple padlocks. Don’t count on deep tech inventory, but if you forgot a charging cable before a late-night departure from T2, this is usually where you find a replacement without hunting the whole concourse.

Hours generally track the long-haul bank in Terminal T2, so it’s typically open from early morning through the final international departures. Staff handle quick transactions well enough; card payments and UPI both work, though sometimes the card machine drops offline for a few minutes. If your flight leaves from a remote T2 gate, factor in a 5–10 minute walk back from WHSmith so you’re not sprinting when boarding starts.

Practical play: grab a large water and any charger you need here right after clearing T2 security, then head straight to your gate instead of doubling back later.
