Fabindia

T2

T2 domestic has a Fabindia that’s actually worth a stop

Just past security in Terminal T2, Fabindia is your last solid shot at decent quality Indian wear before boarding. It skews more casual than wedding, but you’ll still find kurtas and cotton shirts that won’t feel out of place at a meeting in Sector V or a family visit in Salt Lake. Prices sit in the mid-range for the brand, not outlet-level cheap, but better than hotel boutiques.

This Fabindia keeps standard airport hours, roughly aligned with the morning wave of departures from around 06:00 through late evening flights after 22:00. Stock leans toward breathable fabrics that actually work in Kolkata humidity: lots of cotton and linen, some silk pieces, and a smaller rack of women’s dupattas and stoles. Expect familiar earthy tones and block prints rather than fashion-experiment territory.

You’ll see shelves of basics: men’s kurtas around the usual Fabindia price band, simple women’s kurtis, and a few kids’ options. There’s also a compact home section with cushion covers, table runners, and small textile gifts that pack flat and won’t kill your baggage allowance. If you’re short on time, skip browsing the full racks and head straight to the display closest to the entrance for current-season pieces in common sizes like M–XL.

Payment is standard airport setup: cards, UPI, and cash in INR all work, so no need to break big notes elsewhere in T2. Lines are usually shortest outside the 07:30–09:00 and 18:00–20:00 departure banks, when security dumps whole busloads into the same area. Tip: if you spot something you like on the way to your gate, buy it then; restocking is patchy and it may not be there on your return leg.
