T2’s Subway is your predictable sandwich stop airside

This branch sits in Terminal T2 after security, so it works for both domestic and many international departures out of CCU. If your boarding pass lists T2, you’re in range; no need to exit and re-clear. It’s a standard counter setup, so expect grab-and-go more than a long sit-down meal.

Pricing tracks normal Indian mall outlets: a 6-inch sub usually lands in the ₹200–₹300 range, with combos pushing closer to ₹400–₹450 once you add a drink and a cookie. It’s not cheap compared with food courts in the city, but still under typical hotel-airport markups. Card payments and UPI are accepted, which speeds things up when the line builds.

Menu basics are the usual global Subway line-up: Veggie Delite, Paneer Tikka, Chicken Teriyaki, and Chicken Seekh-style fillings, plus salads and cookies. If you’re catching a late-night T2 departure, you’ll still see bread in most varieties—Italian, multigrain, and honey oat—though popular picks can run out near the 21:00–23:00 bank of flights.

Portion sizes match the standard 6-inch and 12-inch builds, which helps if you’re planning to eat half in the gate area and half in-flight. Ask them to double-toast if you’re carrying it onto a late departure; it stays warmer and holds up better in the overhead bin. Sauces lean heavy by default in many Indian outlets, so say “light” on mayo and Southwest if you’re worried about mess in seat 22A.

Service speed varies with the T2 evening rush, especially around the 19:00–21:00 departure wave. If your boarding pass shows a 20:00–21:00 takeoff, aim to order at least 40 minutes before departure so you’re not eating in the security queue or power-walking to the gate with a dripping sub.

Practical tip: ask staff to wrap the sub in both paper and an extra plastic or foil layer; it survives a 2–3 hour Kolkata–Delhi or Kolkata–Mumbai hop without leaking into your laptop bag.
