Sagar Ratna

T2

T2 has Sagar Ratna if you want Indian vegetarian basics

Sagar Ratna sits airside in Terminal T2 at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, so you’re fine on time if your boarding pass already shows CCU-T2. It’s a straightforward vegetarian spot with a north-and-south Indian menu: think dosas, idlis, chole bhature, and simple thalis you can eat in under 30 minutes.

Most mains land in the ₹250–₹450 range, which is normal airport pricing for Kolkata and cheaper than some international-chain cafés further down T2. A masala dosa with sambar and chutney usually runs around ₹250–₹300, while a basic veg thali might sit closer to ₹400–₹450, depending on the combo and any festival add-ons.

The menu at Sagar Ratna T2 leans on classics: paper dosa, rava dosa, idli-vada plates, paneer dishes and parathas, plus soft drinks and tea or coffee. If you want something light before a 2–3 hour flight, a single idli-vada plate or plain dosa works; if you’re coming off a late-evening arrival into T2, the thali is the only thing that feels like an actual meal.

Service speed at T2 usually tracks flight banks: when multiple IndiGo or Air India departures cluster around the 18:00–21:00 window, expect 15–25 minutes for a dosa instead of 10. Morning departures around 06:00–08:00 tend to be calmer, so you can often get in, eat, and reach a nearby gate in under 25 minutes total.

Tip: if your gate is at the far end of T2 (the higher 30s or 40s), order quickly, pay as soon as the bill hits the table, and keep an eye on boarding calls; gates at CCU T2 can be a 7–10 minute walk from some restaurants once the concourse crowds up.
