Six shower suites with beepers sit just past gate A42.
THE LOFT by Brussels Airlines and Lexus is the main Schengen lounge for Brussels Airlines in Terminal T, on Pier A near gate A42. It runs daily from 05:00 to 21:00, so it covers the first wave to the last bank of European departures. Star Alliance business passengers and elites walk in; everyone else can usually buy a day pass for about €39 at reception, capacity permitting.
The headline feature is the spa zone: six individual shower suites, nap rooms, massage chairs, and restrooms grouped together behind the main seating. Showers run first-come, first-served with a small beeper handed out by staff, so you can sit back in the main lounge until it buzzes. Regulars with 07:00–09:00 flights try to check in right at 05:00 just to beat the shower queue.
Each shower cabin reportedly has a GROHE AQUASYMPHONY system with lighting and music plus a Dyson hairdryer on the counter, which is rare at this price point. Towels and basic amenities sit ready in the room, so you are not walking back to a counter in socks. If you want a full reset before a long workday in Europe, this is the strongest reason to aim for the lounge instead of a coffee at the gate.
Food shifts noticeably by time: feedback on FlyerTalk says lunch beats breakfast. Morning usually leans heavier on bread, pastries, and simple hot trays, while midday brings better hot dishes and more substantial options. If you can choose, eat a basic breakfast at home or in the hotel and plan your main meal here around 11:30–14:00.
The spa zone also hides a small set of nap rooms, again first-come with staff managing access. These work well for longer layovers between, say, an early arrival and a late-afternoon Schengen hop. Some long-haul passengers even pop into THE LOFT on arrival, then clear immigration later for a non-Schengen connection, but that only works if you keep at least 60–75 minutes in hand for passport control and walking.
Watch the morning peak: people report the lounge feels packed from roughly 06:30 to 09:00, with shower waits stretching out and seats near power outlets going fast. During renovation phases, a reduced-capacity “pop-up” version drew complaints and wasn’t worth going out of your way for, so check current lounge status if your flight is months out.
Tip: Land in BRU before 08:00, head straight to A42, put your name down for a shower, then grab coffee and a light bite while the beeper counts down; don’t leave immigration for the last half hour before departure.
