GVK Lounge Business Class

Most current reports call this the “old” GVK Business Lounge

Blog posts from 2016–2019 still reference the GVK Lounge Business Class by name, but recent flyers at Mumbai’s Terminal 2 just see generic “Adani” or airline-branded lounges on their boarding passes. Access here is by airline invitation only on international departures from T2, usually tied to business class or elite status on carriers using the main international pier.

The GVK Lounge Business Class sits airside in Terminal 2, after immigration and security, in the international departures zone that handles overnight long-haul waves roughly between 22:00 and 03:00. If your airline sends you here, you reach it via escalators from the duty-free level; walking time from many F-gates can hit 10–12 minutes, so keep an eye on the departure screens rather than trusting a single boarding call.

Food reports in older writeups mention a hot buffet with Indian mains, some Asian dishes, and basic Western options, often refreshed around the 01:00 bank of flights out of Mumbai T2. Portions sit on the smaller side, so think “one plate before boarding” rather than a long tasting session, and soft drinks, tea, and coffee come included with entry tied to your business class or elite invite.

Alcohol in the GVK Lounge Business Class has historically meant a short rail selection plus a couple of Indian beers, with spirits usually behind a staffed counter that shuts down close to final departures around 02:30–03:00. If you want a specific whisky rather than house pour, price it mentally against a drink at one of the T2 public bars, because premium labels here have sometimes been rationed or rotated out between operators.

Showers appear in many legacy reviews of the GVK Lounge Business Class, typically with sign-up at a front desk and wait times that spike around the 23:30–01:00 bank, when multiple Europe-bound and East Asia-bound flights leave. Build in 30–40 minutes if you plan to shower, as cleaning cycles between guests can add another 10 minutes on top of your posted boarding time.

Power outlets in older photos cluster near a limited number of armchairs and high-top tables, and those setups sit a short walk from the central buffet area, often just beyond the main seating ring visible when you first enter. Bring a Type D or Type M compatible adapter for India’s sockets, because universal outlets are hit-or-miss in this legacy GVK-branded space.

Final tip: with long walks to some remote gates at T2 and boarding often starting 45 minutes before departure for widebodies, set a hard “leave the lounge” alarm on your phone at T-60 to departure and treat anything extra as bonus time.
