Amex is one of the few card-branded lounges in BOM T2

In Terminal 2 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the AMEX Lounge stands out because almost every other option is an Adani or generic contract lounge. Access is limited to American Express cardholders, so crowding is usually lighter than the Priority Pass and walk-up spaces in T2.

The lounge runs 24 hours a day, which matters at BOM where international departures often leave between 01:00 and 05:00. If you land from a late domestic into T2 or have a red‑eye to Europe or the US, you still have somewhere to sit with Wi‑Fi and AC at 03:30 instead of camping out by the gates.

This space sits airside in Terminal 2, so you need to clear security before you can enter with your AMEX card. That makes it more useful for departures than arrivals; BOM immigration plus security can easily eat 45 minutes in peak bank times around midnight, so don’t plan to “pop in” for five minutes before boarding.

Food and drink skew toward standard Indian and international lounge fare, typically better than what you’ll find at many paid cafés near the T2 piers where a basic meal can run ₹500–₹800. Soft drinks, tea, and coffee come included with entry, which saves money if you’re staring down a four‑hour layover and would otherwise buy multiple drinks in the terminal.

Seating runs mostly in armchairs and small tables, with enough power outlets that you don’t have to stalk a plug at the gate. Wi‑Fi in T2 is already functional, but the lounge network usually beats the public airport connection, which can bog down when several widebodies bank between 23:00 and 02:00.

Because there are no reliable trip reports or clear photo sets, go in with expectations set at “decent quiet card lounge,” not “flagship.” Treat it as a step up from the busier contract lounges in T2 that serve multiple cards and walk‑ins.

Tip: BOM T2 check‑in for many international flights opens around three hours before departure; time your arrival for that window so you can clear formalities, then spend at least 60–90 minutes in the AMEX Lounge instead of loitering landside.
