Gate-side cables and chargers before International security

Tech2Go sits in the International terminal check-in hall near the main airline counters, so you can grab last-minute gear before you clear security. It’s the standard airport tech shop: headphones, charging cables, power banks, travel adaptors, and a few Bluetooth speakers. Expect airport pricing on small accessories, usually higher than the JB Hi-Fi you passed on the way in, but cheaper than being stuck with a dead phone at gate 80.

Opening hours generally track outbound waves from about 5:00 to 22:00 in the International terminal, though early-morning departures around 6:00 see it fully open and staffed. Stock skews toward major brands you already know plus some generic cables. Figure around AUD $25–$40 for a basic USB-C or Lightning cable and AUD $50–$100 for a mid-range power bank. If you forgot a universal adaptor for Asia, you’ll find one here without having to backtrack into the public side of the airport.

Selection covers phone cases for current iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models, a few earpods under AUD $80, plus SD cards and USB drives in the 32–128 GB range. Tech2Go is inside the International terminal public area, not in Domestic, so don’t count on it if you’re flying a quick hop to Sydney or Melbourne from the Domestic side. Staff usually know which plug type matches Japan, Europe, or the US, which saves you a Google search in a check-in queue.

One practical tip: if you just need power, check your seat at the gate first; most International gates at BNE now have USB and AC outlets, which might save you a $40 cable run to Tech2Go.
