Six-inch subs win over flyers who want “not fried” in T1

In Kempegowda’s Terminal T1, Subway sits on the short list of options that feel lighter than a burger-and-fries run. You still get fast food timing, but with salads, 6-inch and 12-inch subs built to order in front of you. Figure on ₹200–₹350 for most sandwiches, a bit more if you load up extras.

This is a standard Subway format inside T1, post-security on the domestic side, so you clear checks once and then eat. Bread choices usually include Italian, multigrain, and oregano; veggie-heavy builds like Veggie Delite or Paneer Tikka show up on the menu boards alongside Chicken Teriyaki and other meat options. Add cookies or a fountain drink to make it a quick meal before boarding.

Customization is the whole point here: you choose the bread, 4–6 types of veggies, sauces from the squeeze bottles, and toasted or not, all in under five minutes when queues are short. Staff at BLR are used to passengers asking for extra onions or “very less mayo,” and they generally say yes without a surcharge unless you double the fillings. If you want something you can eat at the gate, ask for it fully wrapped and cut in half.

Lines spike in T1 during the 7:00–9:00 and 18:00–21:00 domestic waves, when multiple IndiGo and Air India departures cluster. Expect 10–15 minutes from getting in line to walking away with your sub in those peaks, especially if a few people ahead of you are ordering for families. Off-peak, a single six-inch plus drink is usually in your hand in under five minutes.

Practical tip: T1 security can be unpredictable, so clear checks first, then head to Subway and carry your sandwich to the gate; it travels better than most hot snacks in this terminal.
