Quieter than CCD, Barista in T1 is the coffee break

In Kempegowda’s older Terminal T1, Barista usually stays calmer than the nearby Café Coffee Day, so it’s a decent sit-down spot when the main food court feels packed. It sits airside in T1, so you need a boarding pass to get to it, and it mainly pulls domestic flyers killing 30–45 minutes before boarding.

Prices run in the mid-range for BLR: expect a cappuccino or latte to land around ₹200–₹260, with basic espresso a bit less and cold coffee a bit more. You’ll also see the usual add-ons at the counter, like muffins, cookies, and small sandwiches in the ₹150–₹300 band, enough for a snack but not a full meal before a late-night flight.

Menu is standard Barista: hot coffees, iced blends, a few teas, and some chocolate drinks, with seasonal specials rotating every few months. If you care about speed, stick to espresso-based drinks or simple cold coffee; blender-heavy frappé-style drinks slow things down when there are more than 4–5 people in line.

Seating in T1 around Barista is mostly shared airport chairs and a few small two-top tables, so expect to hover if you’re in a group of three or four. Power outlets are hit-or-miss along the seating row; you might need to walk 10–15 meters to find a working socket near another gate if you want to charge a laptop while you sip.

There aren’t many detailed complaints or strong regular habits documented, which usually means Barista just does its job: predictable coffee, card payments that work, and staff used to dealing with early-morning and post-midnight domestic banks. Most people seem to linger 20–30 minutes, then walk back to gates in the mid-10s and 20s.

Practical tip: if CCD near your gate has a visible queue of 8–10 people, walk down toward T1’s other retail cluster and check Barista first; the line here often stays under 5.
