Old BLR trip reports mention Above Ground Level long before 080.
Above Ground Level Lounge sits in BLR Terminal T1’s domestic area and still shows up as a card and paid-access option, even though recent reviews focus almost entirely on 080 and the newer generic credit card lounges. If you’re flying on a domestic ticket out of T1, this is one of the few non-airline lounges you can pay into without status.
Access works through common Indian credit cards and lounge networks, plus walk-in payment at the desk in T1 domestic; expect pricing in the usual contract-lounge band rather than premium airline-lounge levels. If you only have one or two lounge visits left on a Visa or Mastercard program in a calendar month, this is another place at BLR where you can burn them before year-end.
Food runs to standard Indian lounge buffet staples tied to local mealtimes, so you’ll usually see hot options at peak domestic banks around 07:00–10:00 and 19:00–22:00 in Terminal 1. Don’t expect made-to-order dishes or barista coffee like you might find in some flagship international lounges in T2, but you should at least be able to assemble a basic plate and grab tea or filter coffee before a morning departure.
Drinks typically include soft drinks, tea, and coffee at no extra charge, matching what other contract lounges in BLR T1 domestic offer. Alcohol policies in Indian domestic terminals change from time to time, so ask at check-in if beer or spirits are available that day and whether there’s a per-glass charge or a cap on complimentary pours.
Seating generally follows the standard BLR lounge pattern in T1: rows of armchairs and small tables, with power outlets scattered but not at every single seat. If you need to plug in a laptop or charge a phone before an IndiGo or Akasa evening flight, walk the room for a minute and claim a spot with a working socket rather than grabbing the first open chair.
Because newer reports now focus on 080 and other branded card lounges, Above Ground Level often flies under the radar in recent BLR T1 guides. Before you pick a lounge, check which options your specific card network lists for Kempegowda T1 on the day you travel, then choose based on which one is closest to your actual gate number.
