Factory Bar and Kitchen

Gate 1-20 side of Terminal 1, Factory Bar and Kitchen is your main sit-down option before security thins out into pure grab-and-go.

Factory Bar and Kitchen sits airside in BHX Terminal 1, a short walk from most gates, so you can keep an eye on a 30–40 minute boarding window without stress. It runs through the core flight bank from early morning into the evening, catching the 06:00 departures crowd and the late Ryanair and Jet2 turns. Seating is standard pub tables plus some high-tops, and it usually feels calmer than the main food court benches outside the bigger chains.

Menu is straightforward British pub food: think burgers, fries, and a full English plated breakfast, with mains typically in the £11–£16 range and pints in the £5–£7 band depending on brand. There’s the usual mix of draught lager, basic spirits, and house wine by the glass, so it works if you want a pre-flight pint more than a food event. Portions run on the generous side, so one main each is plenty unless you have a longer layover and skip any snacks on board.

Service pace tracks flight banks: at 07:00 and again around the 16:00 European departures wave, expect 20–30 minutes from order to table, and closer to 10–15 minutes outside those peaks. Staff are used to people with boarding at T-minus 40 minutes, so tell them your gate and departure time when you order. There are a few plug sockets along the wall seating; don’t count on charging at every table, and bring a UK three-pin adaptor if you’re connecting from the EU or US.

Practical tip: if your gate is 45–60 seconds’ walk away and boarding shows in under 20 minutes, pay at the bar as you order and stick to draught or a quick breakfast plate so you can walk as soon as your food is finished.
