Heineken Bar

Gate-side beer stop in T1 before Schengen departures

Right in Bergamo’s T1 departures area, Heineken Bar sits airside after security, so you can stay close to the gates while you drink. Seating is mostly high stools and counter space facing the concourse, good for keeping an eye on the screens when your Ryanair flight likes to shuffle gates at the last minute.

As the name says, taps are Heineken-focused, with draft poured into branded glasses and bottles in the fridge if you just want a quick grab-and-go. Expect airport pricing: a beer runs more than in town, roughly the cost of a cheap Aperol Spritz in central Bergamo, but you’re paying for being 100 meters from boarding.

The food is basic bar fare: panini, snacks, and light bites rather than full meals. You’ll see pre-made sandwiches in the display case, so timing matters; options look fresher earlier in the day, especially before the lunchtime rush around 12:00–14:00. If you want a real sit-down Italian meal, you’re better off elsewhere in T1.

Opening times usually track the main departure bank, with shutters up early in the morning and running through the evening while Ryanair and other low-cost carriers are still boarding. It’s one of the few spots in this terminal where you can grab a beer at 09:00 without anyone blinking, which fits the holiday flight crowd heading to the islands.

Heineken Bar works best as a 20–30 minute pit stop rather than a long stay. Use the bar counter for a quick draft and a snack, then move to your gate once boarding status flips to “go to gate” on the screens.

Tip: Order and pay at the counter as soon as you arrive; service slows sharply when two or three flights to the UK and Spain queue up at the same time.
