Parking Preferente T1

Premium covered parking

50 metres from T1 departures, this is BCN’s closest car park

Parking Preferente T1 sits directly opposite Terminal T1 at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat, about a 1–2 minute walk to the check-in counters. It’s a premium covered facility, so your car stays under a roof the whole stay. Access is signposted as “Parking Preferente” on the T1 access road, just after the public drop-off zone.

This is multi-storey covered parking with spaces reserved for short and medium stays, typically anything from a few hours up to 3–4 days. Height limit is standard for T1 structures (around 2.10 m), so high vans and roof-box SUVs may not fit comfortably. It directly serves airlines using T1, including Vueling and many oneworld and SkyTeam carriers.

Pricing sits above the general T1 car park, reflecting the shorter walk: you pay a premium per day to park this close. The trade-off is time saved at both departure and arrival; you’re at the terminal in about 60–90 seconds instead of a 5–10 minute walk from the long-stay lots. Pre-booking online usually locks in a better daily rate than drive-up.

Security is the standard airport setup: CCTV, patrols, barrier entry and ticketed exits. Being attached to T1, there’s constant vehicle movement from early-morning departures around 05:00 through late-night arrivals after 23:00. Lighting is bright across the decks, and pedestrian routes lead straight to the terminal bridge or ground-level entrance.

Tip: If you’re flying from T2, skip Parking Preferente T1 and book a T2 car park instead; the inter-terminal shuttle and extra walking will erase the benefit of this premium location.
