Bahrain Airport Taxi

Taxi

Taxi Varies Initial BHD 2, additional BHD 2 for pickup

Initial BHD 2 on the meter before you even roll

Bahrain Airport Taxi runs 24/7 from outside arrivals in T1, so you always find cars waiting even on a 03:00 landing. Official taxis line up at the signed taxi rank by the terminal exit; skip any drivers approaching you inside the hall and walk straight to the queue.

The meter starts at BHD 2, with an extra BHD 2 pickup fee from Bahrain International Airport, so expect at least BHD 4 before distance charges kick in. For short hops to nearby Muharraq, fares often stay in the single digits, but rides into Manama or Seef can climb higher depending on traffic and route.

Journey time varies a lot: in light traffic, many people report reaching central Manama in around 15–20 minutes, but peak-hour runs from T1 can stretch beyond 30 minutes. Late-night arrivals usually move faster, and the 24/7 operation means you won’t be stuck trying to find a bus after midnight.

You pay the airport taxi in Bahraini dinars; ATMs sit just past customs in T1 if you need cash before heading to the rank. Some drivers accept cards, but it’s not universal, so carry at least BHD 10–15 in notes for a typical city trip plus a small tip if you like the service.

There’s no fixed fare chart from Bahrain International Airport to the city, so ask the driver for a rough estimate to your district before leaving T1. If the meter isn’t on with the BHD 2 start showing, request a reset before the car exits the terminal loop road.

Last tip: grab a printed hotel address or a pinned map with the exact block number; giving the driver a building number in Manama or Muharraq usually cuts a few minutes off the variable journey time and avoids loops around one-way streets.
