Every 30–60 minutes, Airport A2 Bus links BAH to Manama

The Airport A2 Bus runs from Bahrain International Airport’s T1 landside area to central Manama and key stops along Shaikh Isa Avenue. It operates roughly every 30–60 minutes during the day, with service tapering off later at night, so check the latest timetable at the Ground Transportation desk near Arrivals. You board outside the Arrivals exit, in the signed bus bay for routes A1 and A2.

Fares on the Airport A2 Bus sit in the low single digits in Bahraini dinar, usually under 1 BHD one-way when paid with a GO Card or similar transport card. Drivers generally accept cash in small notes, but exact change speeds things up and avoids delays for people in line behind you. If you plan more than two or three rides in one day, a day pass can work out cheaper than paying single fares each time.

The A2 route usually takes 25–40 minutes from BAH to central Manama, depending on traffic on routes like Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Highway and peak office hours. The bus stops at several intermediate points, so it runs slower than taxis that do the same airport–city trip in around 15–25 minutes. For late-night arrivals after 23:00, confirm on the airport website or at the info desk that the last A2 departure still runs for your landing time.

You catch the Airport A2 Bus on the ground floor outside T1 Arrivals, near the taxi rank and car rental counters, all within a 2–3 minute walk from baggage claim belts. Look for bilingual English/Arabic signs marked “Public Bus” and route numbers A1 and A2. If you just landed on Gulf Air or another carrier into T1 and cleared customs, you stay landside and do not need to pass through any security checks again to reach the bus stop.

Bus interiors on the A2 route usually have basic air conditioning and standard 2+2 seating, with limited space for large 23 kg suitcases and cabin bags. In practice, bigger bags often sit in the fold-down priority area near the front door, which can get tight if more than 3–4 cruise-sized suitcases are on board. If you are carrying two or more large bags over 20 kg each, you might find a taxi at the adjacent rank, with meter fares typically starting near 2 BHD, more practical.

One practical tip: buy or load a transport card at the small kiosk or machine near the bus bays before boarding the A2, so you avoid fumbling with cash at the door and can hop straight on the first bus that pulls in.
