Intercity coach to Dubai

Tickets from AED 35 get you straight from AUH to Dubai

Airport Express runs an intercity coach from Zayed International Airport (Terminal A) to Dubai starting around AED 35 per person. Buses leave from the official coach bay outside arrivals at Terminal A, on the ground level, with signs clearly marked "Airport Express" or similar Abu Dhabi–Dubai coach labels. Expect typical travel time of 75–90 minutes to the main Dubai drop-off points, depending on E11 traffic and the time of day.

Coaches run roughly every 30–60 minutes across most of the day, with tighter gaps at peak hours like early morning bank departures (05:00–09:00) from AUH. The service connects Terminal A directly to Dubai city, usually via stops such as Ibn Battuta or central Dubai bus stations, so you avoid a taxi across emirate lines that can easily hit AED 300+. Factor in a short walk of 3–5 minutes from baggage claim to the coach bays.

You buy Airport Express tickets at the airport counter near the public transport area, typically right by the taxi ranks and city bus stops on the arrivals level of Terminal A. Some kiosks and counters accept cards and cash, but carry at least AED 50 in notes in case a specific counter has card issues. Keep your boarding pass and passport handy, as some staff do quick checks when selling intercity tickets between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Coaches are air‑conditioned, with standard 2–2 seating and overhead racks that fit typical 7–10 kg cabin bags, while large checked bags go in the underfloor hold. Most buses have basic Wi‑Fi and USB charging ports at several seats, though on older vehicles a few ports may not work. Plan on loading offline maps of Dubai in advance, since mobile signal can drop briefly along some parts of the E11 highway.

To ride Airport Express after landing at Terminal A, budget 20–30 minutes from gate to coach bay, including immigration and baggage at off‑peak times. If your flight lands during the midday bank (around 11:00–15:00), add extra time for queues. One practical move: buy a bottle of water in arrivals before boarding, since not every coach has working coolers and the 75–90 minute ride between Abu Dhabi and Dubai runs with no guaranteed mid‑route stop.
