Most airport hotels run shuttles to AUH Terminal A

The Abu Dhabi Airport Shuttle is a hotel-operated bus service linking Terminal A at Zayed International Airport with nearby hotels across Abu Dhabi Island and the mainland. Most properties run their own shuttle on a fixed timetable, typically every 30–60 minutes, and many align the schedule with major long-haul arrivals in the late evening and early morning.

Shuttles pick up and drop off on the departure and arrival levels outside Terminal A, usually at clearly marked hotel-branded stops near the curb. If your hotel is within about 5–10 km of the airport, expect the ride to take 10–20 minutes in light traffic, but add extra time at peak hours along E10 and E20.

Prices vary by hotel: some four- and five-star properties bundle the shuttle as a free perk, while others charge a fixed fee per person or per room, often between AED 30 and AED 80 each way. Because the Abu Dhabi Airport Shuttle is run by hotels and not the airport authority, you will not find a single unified ticket desk in Terminal A.

Service runs throughout most of the day, with many hotels covering the heavy bank of overnight flights between 22:00 and 04:00 and keeping at least hourly service from around 07:00 to 23:00. A few smaller hotels near the Corniche, more than 30 km from AUH, only run shuttles during daytime check-in and check-out windows, for example from 09:00–18:00.

Step-by-step from Terminal A to your hotel shuttle:

  • 1. After immigration and baggage claim in Terminal A, follow signs to “Arrivals” and exit to the curbside within 5–10 minutes of leaving customs.
  • 2. Check your hotel confirmation for the shuttle pick-up point; many list a bay number or level, such as “Terminal A Arrivals, Bay 8.”
  • 3. If you do not see a sign, call the hotel from your mobile or an airport phone and ask for the shuttle location and next departure time in minutes.
  • 4. Wait at the specified bay; most drivers hold a sign with the hotel name and may verify your booking or room name against a daily list.
  • 5. Confirm whether the shuttle is complimentary or paid before boarding; if there is a fee, expect to pay in cash (AED) or by card, depending on the hotel.

Build the buffer: confirm shuttle times with your hotel at least 24 hours before arrival, especially if you land at AUH after 23:00 or before 06:00.
