First hour at Premium Parking costs less than a taxi flag-fall
Premium Parking at Zayed International Airport sits directly opposite Terminal A, so you’re usually under a 3–5 minute walk from car to check-in. This is the short-stay option, meant for drop-offs, pick-ups, and quick trips of 1–24 hours rather than long holidays. If you’re meeting an arrival in A, this is the closest official car park to the terminal doors.
Rates here are hourly, not daily, so it makes sense for stays under about 24 hours. Pricing starts with a lower first-hour band, then climbs in smaller increments for the next few hours before capping into a day rate. If you expect to be at the airport for 2–3 hours, Premium usually pencils out cheaper than circling the forecourt or risking a fine on the access roads.
The car park is fully within the airport perimeter and is signed as “Premium Parking – Short Stay” on approach to Terminal A. You enter via a ticket barrier or number-plate recognition, then pay at machines or exit barriers before driving out. Because it’s the closest lot, spaces near the pedestrian exits fill first during the evening bank of Etihad departures between roughly 19:00 and 02:00.
Security cameras cover the lanes and bays, and lighting stays on through the night, which helps for late Etihad arrivals after midnight. Height restrictions apply at the entry barrier, so tall vans and some roof-box setups may be diverted to other A-terminal parking. If you’re leaving the car for more than one calendar day, the maths usually starts to favour the standard or economy car parks over Premium.
Tip: If you’re just doing a terminal meet-and-greet, aim to arrive 15–20 minutes after the scheduled landing time; that usually keeps you under two hours of Premium Parking fees once you factor in taxi-in, immigration, and bags at Terminal A.
