First two hours at EV Charging Bays are usually free
These EV Charging Bays sit in the main parking complex serving Terminal A, so you park once and walk straight into the terminal in about 5–8 minutes. Spaces are marked with green EV signage and floor paint, so you can spot them quickly as you turn into the structure.
Chargers here are standard AC posts with marked connection points next to each bay. Most stations use RFID or app-based activation, so have your charging card or app set up before you pull in. Power output varies by post, so expect slower top‑ups than a highway DC fast charger.
Parking is billed at the same hourly rate as regular short‑term parking in the same deck, with charging itself often discounted for the first 1–2 hours depending on airport tariff updates. Check the posted rate boards at the entry barrier and the small sticker on each charger for the current kWh or session pricing before plugging in.
Access works like any other AUH car park: take a ticket at the barrier or use your registered plate if you’ve enrolled in the automatic payment system. The EV Charging Bays sit closer to the pedestrian bridges into Terminal A than some upper-level general spaces, which cuts a few minutes off the walk if you’re hauling two 23 kg bags.
Tip: Aim to arrive at least 30 minutes earlier than usual; that gives you time to find an open EV bay, read the instructions on the charger, start the session, and still be at the Terminal A check-in desks within a 5–10 minute walk.
